Club History
Did you know that our youth soccer club began in ~1978?
At that time, senior players on the Windsor Bears wanted a place for their children to play, and so our soccer club was born! The club began as co-ed only with the initial teams formed in the 10-12 year-old category. We played in what was then the Kings-Hants district.
The West Hants United Soccer Association (WHUSA) was formally incorporated as a Society with the Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stocks in 1986.
In the early 1990s the club's growth allowed us to migrate from a co-ed only model to expand and include both female and male divisions. At that time our soccer teams were made up of three distinct playing areas: Falmouth/Hantsport, Windsor and Brooklyn. In 1994 Mount Uniacke joined the WHUSA as well.
West Hants players formed the basis of the playing and coaching staff of the first Valley United team to win the Tier 1 Provincial Championships and the Maritime Championships in 1993.
The WHUSA soccer club has gone on to win 6 provincial championships over the years. Most recently we won the Provincial title in both the U15 male and female divisions in 2023.
In 2010 we added Winter Soccer to our program offering to complement the Summer Program.
In 2021 the beautiful new West Hants Sports Complex facility opened which is where we now run our Fall & Winter soccer programs.
